Jožica (Jozi) Plut was born in Novo Mesto, Slovenia, and immigrated to San Francisco with her family at a young age in 1977. She attended local SF schools and currently works for the City of Belmont as Executive Assistant to the City Manager and City Attorney and serves as Deputy City Clerk.
Jozi has a passion for volunteering in both her social and professional communities. She is committed to preserving her Slovenian roots and gives her time and effort to events that help ensure the culture will survive the test of time on this continent.
She was elected to the SPH Board in 2013, currently service as Treasurer, and also serves as Recording Secretary and Activities Director for KSKJ, St. Francis, Lodge 236. In addition, she is a member of the Finance Committee of the American Slovenian Education Foundation (ASEF), President of the Croatian, Slovenian United Foundation (CSUF), and VP of Communications for Carlmont High School PTSA.
She enjoys cooking and hosting family and friends at her home. She appreciates car trips and exploring the SF Bay Area, California and neighboring West Coast states and spending time with her husband Franc and their two children Martin and Viktoria.
